SNOW AT AWATEA LODGE

This is the first time that snow has fallen and settled here at Awatea Lodge.

Its very beautiful but have just been out to my vegie plot! - its all ice!

This morning there was just the dusting of snow on the back hills. I walked the dogs up the hill and as we returned the snow was gently wafting around us.

PIT- FIRING

Awatea Lodge hosted another fabulous pit-firing weekend for the Otaki Pottery group.

Members brought their bisque fired pottery pieces plus their contributions to the fire: sawdust, pieces of wire and various types of wood.

The fire was lit on Sat morning and then the pit was uncovered with great excitement and trepidation on Sun afternoon.
